Station 4 Engine 6

Our first visit to Station 4

Last Saturday I took the kids down to Atlanta to visit daddy at the fire station. We made no-bake cookies and headed downtown.

Ben was a little hesitant because I warned him that he might hear loud noises (which he hates) but we were all excited to finally see where Matt lives every 3rd day.

The station is located on Edgewood Avenue which I must say is a little sketchy but does have some interesting murals…

When we arrived Matt introduced us to everyone and showed us around the station. The kids loved seeing everything and Ben was talking a mile a minute and asking so many questions. Here are a few pictures of where they store their gear and where he sleeps:

After the tour Ben got to ride with daddy as they pulled the engine out so the kids could try out the hoses.

Then he showed the kids everything about Engine 6.

And of course we took the opportunity to get a family photo with the engine.

Just as we were leaving they got a call and jumped in the engine and were on their way!

  1. My husband is at Station 11 on B shift. I’m so glad I found this site! It’s nice to hear about other fire wives’ lives.
